Terms to Help You Get Started

Duct system—Collection of tubes that distributes heated or cooled air to different rooms in a dwelling. HVAC—Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. Supply—Delivers conditioned air to a dwelling through individual room registers (i.e., vents). Supply Registers—Vent-like units in walls, floors, or ceilings where conditioned air blows. Return/Return Register or Grille—Picks up inside air for reconditioning, drawing the air through a changeable filter to the air handler of the central system. Air handler—The indoor unit that moves the air through the heating/cooling system. Cooling load—The amount of energy needed to maintain comfort levels in conditioned air. Duct tape—Fabric based tape with a rubber adhesive used in many households for temporary fixes, but has been proven to become brittle and disintegrate over time. Aluminum/foil tape—Specialty tape with an acrylic-based adhesive that performs consistently under extreme temperatures. Mastic—A thick paste that provides a permanent seal at air-duct joints and connections; sometimes used in conjunction with a fiberglass mesh tape.

Q: Am I in your service area? A: Click to see service area Q: Do you provide free estimate on repairs? A: We do not provide free estimate on repairs. In order for us to provide you with a estimate or quote for your repair we must first discover the nature of the problem by preforming a diagnostic by a trained technician. We do not preform repairs without signed customer authorization. Q: What is the difference between a free estimate and diagnostic? A: A free estimate is provided when a home/business owner wishes to receive a estimate or quote for a new installation,replacement or upgrade without having to diagnose and report findings for an existing unit if one is present, usually this type of appointment is performed by our owner or a management team member. A diagnostic is performed when a home/business owner wishes to discover the nature of a malfunctioning system and wants to repair the unit, this type of appointment is performed by a service technician. Q: How much is your diagnostic fee and what does it cover? A: Diagnostic fee starts @ $89.00 depending on your location, this covers the travel and time to perform a proper diagnostic. We offer a verity of  limited time discounts, see Promotions. Q: Can my diagnostic fee be applied toward the cost of my repair? A: The diagnostic fee is not applicable towards the cost of any repairs. Discount vouchers, when available that can be used towards the cost of your repair, see Promotions. Q: How long are your time frames? Why are they so long and can you provide a more accurate time? A: Our window of time for each appointment is 3 hours, the first hour is usually the arrival time and the following hour allows for a proper diagnostic and repair if possible. Q: Do you service mini split ac systems? A: Yes. Including multi zone mini split ac. Q: Do you service wall furnaces? A: Yes. Including direct vent wall furnace. Q: Do you service window units? A: We do not service window units of any type. Q: Do you service “though the wall window style ac” ? This system is known as Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner(PTAC) (Fig. A) A: We do not service PTAC systems.
